10 Romantic Movies for Valentines 2014

Hello dearies! :D

Valentine's Day is just around the corner from today. Its exactly in 8 days! Have you planned your romantic date yet? :)

It was just Chinese New Year last week and now, Valentine's Day is next. Before I continue further, I wanna wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!

I'm still thinking on what I should do for koibito. We've never celebrated Valentine's Day nor bought gifts for each other before, so I hadn't thought much about it ><  But we're 2 years old now and I thought, a surprise wouldn't hurt ;) I think I'll make another post for this. Look out for it!

I believe that Valentine's Day shouldn't just be on the February 14th but it should be everyday! But since this day exists, why not go the extra mile?

If you're looking for a budget Valentine's Day date, a home-cooked meal with candles should do the trick ;) Don't forget to end it with a romantic movie to build up the mood! Hehe.

I'm really poor right now so this might do me good as well xD

I've come up with my own version of 10 Romantic Movies for Valentines 2014! Be aware; there are some movies in my list that are not advised for the age of 18 years and below. I will state them.

Let's begin! (Not in sequence)

1) One Day (2011)

Starring: Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess

After spending the night together on the night of their college graduation, Dexter and Em are shown each year on the same date to see where they are in their lives. They are sometimes together, sometimes not, on that day.

My comment: I enjoyed watching this movie because it felt so real in some ways. It shows two friends who fell in love but got separated by fate. This movie taught me to appreciate your loved one and time waits for no man. By the way, the actor is really hot! xD

2) Titanic (1997)

Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

A seventeen-year-old aristocrat, expecting to be married to a rich claimant by her mother, falls in love with a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.

My comment: Okay, you might be thinking; Titanic? Seriously? YES SERIOUSLY. Its such a good movie. It definitely got into my list lol. I just watched it again this afternoon and I was crying my eyes out. Its so sad and romantic. I'm such a sucker for this xD If two people really love each other, what can stop them?

3) Love & other Drugs (2010)

Starring: Jake Gyllenhall and Anne Hathaway

A woman suffering from Parkinson's befriends a drug rep working for Pfizer against 1990s Pittsburgh backdrop.

My Comment: A beautiful movie about a woman suffering from an illness and a once playboy turned tables when his love for her grew. A sexy and romantic movie of hardship and hope. Its a must watch! (Not advised for 18 and below to watch)

4) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

Starring: Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet

A couple undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories when their relationship turns sour, but it is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with.

My comment: I thought this was a very good movie. Also, one of Jim Carrey's best acting in my opinion. It shows that if two people are meant to be, they are meant to be; not even lost memories can stop them meeting.

5) Knocked Up (2007)

Starring: Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen

For fun loving party animal Ben Stone, the last thing he ever expected was for his one night stand to show up on his doorstep eight weeks later to tell him she's pregnant.

My comment: A hilarious romantic comedy that involves a one night stand situation which turned into romance. Seth Rogen always cracks me up! xD

6) Don Jon (2013)

Starring: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlet Johansson, and Julianne Moore

A New Jersey guy dedicated to his family, friends, and church, develops unrealistic expectations from watching porn and works to find happiness and intimacy with his potential true love.

My comment: As expected of Gordon, a hilarious outcome! I enjoyed this movie because of the ending; there is such thing as romance and feelings :) (Not advised for 18 and below to watch)

7) Midnight in Paris (2011)

Starring: Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams

While on a trip to Paris with his fiancée's family, a nostalgic screenwriter finds himself mysteriously going back to the 1920s every day at midnight.

My comment: A very interesting plot! Owen Wilson can somehow magically travel back in time to the 20s and he found himself a new lover whilst being engage. Confused from the time travelling and his new lover, he makes a decision at the end. A romantic movie that involves time travelling and the city of love; Paris.

8) Blue Valentine (2010)

Starring: Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams

The film centers on a contemporary married couple, charting their evolution over a span of years by cross-cutting between time periods.

My comment: A story about a couple who got married because of an unwanted pregnancy. There is a twist to the wife's past but Gosling bears it all. Ryan is hot no matter how uncle he looks like in this movie. Lol. Me and koibito fancies him very much! xD

9) Lars and the Real Girl (2007)

Starring: Ryan Gosling

A delusional young guy strikes up an unconventional relationship with a doll he finds on the Internet.

My comment: I really did not expect Gosling to star in a role such as this. It was hilarious! To see him taking care of his 'girlfriend' and be trapped in a delusion of reality and fantasy is funny enough! He's so cute somewhat xD

10) Punch Drunk Love (2002)

Starring: Adam Sandler and Emily Watson

A psychologically troubled novelty supplier is nudged towards a romance with an English woman, all the while being extorted by a phone-sex line run by a crooked mattress salesman, and purchasing stunning amounts of pudding.

My comment: This movie was quite different than the other Adam Sandler movies; its serious and true. This is Adam's best acting I reckon. Its a story about a guy who's stuck in his world but managed to find romance.

------

This concludes my list of 10 Romantic Movies for Valentines 2014.
